Guys,
Are Subarus popular in Dubai? I haven't seen too many adverts for them.
How much do you think a 2nd hand 2 or 3 year-old car would go for?
Thx,

What model are you talking about?
If the WRX Sti then they are like Rocking horse sh1t to find.
Most will be American imports. Scoobies are not sold here, except the lower spec models

Interesting fun fact on this ! The two car companies - Ford and Subaru - who did business (i think even had manufacturing plants) in Israel back in the 70s and 80s where banned from exporting to the middle east. When the peace process happened in 1993 there was demand for Ford so they where brought here however Subara never really took off.
if you want to know more about this start a thread in the politics forum ;)

J? Is that you?
Scoobies not too popular here matey. Neither rexies nor STis are available locally. Even the GTs etc are not available. The newer model scoobies (bug eyes onwards) are US imports. There are a handful of old school LHD converts out there.

The dealer is useless. They have a limited range, don't advertise, and have few tiny showrooms. I don't think politics has much to do with this, if Ford managed okay. Can you tell me, off the top of your head, where the Subaru showroom is?

There is one on SZR next to the volvo showroom.

Yes, with like 5 cars on show.
Agree with mash - their lack of advertising and presence is pretty dismal in comparison with their marketing / presence in other countries.

What a shame... I will have to consider a different car altogether!
I like the chunky, uglier looking models... eg. outback, or forrester. Are there similar other makes out there that I should look at?
Thanks as always,
PMS

The new outbacks are not too chunky, just a little bigger than the libertys. Both the outback and forrester are available here though.
