| If your goal is to save as much as possible whilst in Dubai and then bail out, HSBC have a savings plan which pays about 6% I think. I assume that there are conditions wrt minimum monthly instalments etc but I don't know exactly because I spend all of my salary and don't have one of these accounts. |

| hahahaha, Benwj, sadly you're not alone, interestingly (2/3rds) 67% of expats go home with no more money then they came with (stat from gulf news about 6 months ago) HSBC for 6% is the best for a savings account I've found, you need to do everything on the internet and I think the min is 5k, |

| Only fixed deposit can give you some interests. Unless your savings is millions of Dirhams, it's not worth it to expect interests from only savings account, which normally only around 1%/pa (and that would be paid every quarter/half year!). |
