Greetings... I am considering a long term lease for a new car in Dubai and I have a budget of AED3,000/mth. Can someone give me some indications as to what I can afford (assuming a 24-36 month lease with no upfront payment). I am interested in either a 4WD or sports coupe. Would my budget allow me to get the Nissan Murano or Infinity FX35? Also is reliability a major issue with second hand cars in Dubai? thx

You can try to get one through hire purchase but not sure who does the murano/fx 35 on those here. Second question is open ended. Even if you do all your homework its still russian roulette. Just make sure you get balance of dealer warranty (ie buy something 1-2 years old with low-average kms) or minimum 5 star gulf warranty.

Thanks. So what kind of coupe or 4WD would I be able to afford based on AED3,000/mth hire purchase lease?

Whilst not a coupe or 4wd, i can get an Accord 3.0l V6 for Dhs2550 per month for a period of 3 years. Why not use Google, search for car rentals in Dubai and have a look on their websites, its a hell of a lot easier.

Or how about you look in the very first topic I've posted in this forum - Car Rentals, and follow one of the many links there?

So how much is the Honda Accord? Around Dhs100,000? The Dhs2550/mth is based on this price and how much upfront payments? Is there a site where I can easily work out the monthly lease payments from hire purchases of different cars? Thanks again

The Honda Accord 3.0l V6 (without leather and power seats) is Dhs86,000.00, with leather and power seats Dhs94,000.00 Zero down payment, over 4 years, you will pay Dhs2,073 per month. That is at 4.25% interest. The above is what was on offer from Honda in Ramadan Insurance will be approx 4-4.5% depending on what age and so forth. So, say 4% per year = Dhs3,440.00 which is Dhs287.00 per month. For the second year, take 20% depreciation on the value; 3rd year, 30% depreciation; 4th year 40% etc etc and work out the insurance costs. The Lease costs will include all things like insurance, maintenance etc etc etc.

Sorry guys, think I mislead you somewhat. I know the buying prices for some of the cars i mentioned, but not leasing. To buy (2007 during Ramadan): Altima 3.5SE - Dhs87,500.00 Renault laguna Lexus IS300 - from Dhs131,000.00 Toyota camry - Dhs58,500.00 SLK200 - Dhs197,000.00 CLK280 - Dhs244,500.00 VW Passat - From Dhs86 - 120,000 (4 cyl) From Dhs148 - 155,000 (6 cyl) I guess from those prices you could work out rough ball-park leasing costs. Here are a few others I have: Accord 2.4L - 36 month lease Dhs2,090.00 Camry 2.4L - 36 month lease Dhs2,125.00 Nissan Altima 2.5 - 36 month lease Dhs2,040.00 Mitsubishi Magna 2.5 - 36 month lease Dhs2,050.00 (i think)
