Hi, I could be relocating to Dubai within the next couple of months from Australia. I have been doing some research regarding the location of my job around the Port area as well as Villas possibly in the Arabian Ranches vicinity. I have tried several maps to try to find the easiest route to and from AR. After looking at all the roads and with many without names on them, how do you find your way around? The other point. Is there streetnames and addresses? If not, why not?? If they don't that would seem absolutely crazy to me. Is there a valid reason? Am also surprised that everyone seems to have PO Box Numbers or use the company "PO Box". Would really like to know considering Dubai will be growing into a large metropolis over the next few years. Gosh!! My first day at the job i could imagine trying to work my way through traffic whilst getting used to driving on the opposite side of the road to what i am used too with left hand steering and at the same time juggle a map to help find my way. Yikes!!! Might have to catch a cab for a while until i get used to it. Or else take out very good "Life Insurance" LOL!! Cheers markco2

The best maps to use in the car are iMAPs. They cover Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, Sharjah and Ajman, as well as the Northern Emirates .(there's 4 in total) :D
They are brilliant, detailed, indexed and even have 3D maps included for the areas you want to walk around such as the Dubai Creek and the Sharjah Heritage and Arts areas.
They also come in a very durable plastic sleeve. Also only Dhs25.
I sound like a salesman but they really are great. Got mine at Magrudy's.
Took the address off the map if you need it: info@3d-imaps.com
Hope this helps. X

I like the easy to orientate yourself feature because of the 3D style landmarks on your maps Mr Imap Salesman. But for navigation when driving, I prefer the Dubai Explorer series.
Here's a list of other Dubai maps worth considering.
