Not for me, I prefer to hold my breath for a while, anyways sometimes you are close to someone who really smells good. Traffic jams, nightmare for me, I hate them. |
| dale |
| LU stinks horribly and you got to keep stand most of the time. in summers its worse with no airconditioning. you cant compare it to sitting in the comfort of your own car smelling nice and good. there are traffic jams though but its worthwhile when compared. |
| sage & onion |
Please do, I look forward to hearing that one. Thanks. |
| Princess Banana Hammock |
| Oh it's so funny... all about the strikes, heat, oyster cards, how much they pay the drivers etc... If I can find the link with the song I'll post it. |
| sage & onion |
Please elaborate Dale. |
| dale |
| thats what we call customer loyalty :P |
| sage & onion |
I don't think I have heard it. |
| Princess Banana Hammock |
| I agree Sage! Although I do love that song by the Doctors about the Underground. Tickles me every time!!! |
| sage & onion |
I prefer the London Underground any day in comparison with SZR or SDR in the morning or evening. |
| Princess Banana Hammock |
| There is nothing better than a tube or night bus on a Fri/Sat night in London Town. Everyone jammed on singing songs and fooling around. I loved it!!! And who smiles at 7am on their way to work on a Monday morning when it's chucking it down outside and your soaked right through?!? Jeez... it's depressing just thinking about it! |
| Jamal |
| probably might get a piece of paper tossed at you .. and if u wanna know wats written in those papers they toss.. then make sure u smile at them so called ninja's |
| xibit |
try smiling at the women in the black ninja costumes over here. ull get a good response |
| dubai girl |
| I think if one smiles, it brings smiles to them too. If one has "smile wrinkles" then I like them instantly.......shows they are a happy person (most of the time). If you want a smile, give a smile :D |
| sara_uk |
| Anywhere in the world, people are miserable in a big city. Come to London and you can see how miserable people are.. |

That's for the hang-over |
| dale |
| 1. alcohol kills your brain cells so there is a possibility that you might end up as a retard nut case 2. you realise you are left with no money when your credit is rejected at the supermarket. 3. you waste precious time which could have been used for something more entertaining and productive. 4. your health suffers, skin loses its sheen and shine 5. you may end up in jail. most crimes happen when people are drunk. 6. it could be the last time you are driving your car. 7. it could destroy relatioships 8. you age quickly 9. lastly in some cases your performance can suffer  so why drink at the first place? better drink milk and honey... |
| sage & onion |
| Hahahahahaha, Don't drink beer much, when I do I smile a lot. |
| sara_uk |
lol which study is that?? the Eastenders's vic study? |
| mraph33 |
| A scientific study discovered that the amount of smiles is inversely proportional to the price of beer. |
| sage & onion |
You and me both M8  |

specially the underground is miserable. it stinks horribly and is crowded to the extent that tall big ladies in tiny bits of clthing squeeze against your face... which is quite embarassing.... one word 'chaos' |
| nosoup4u |

| zam |
| I agree with Scarlet.... it could be a culture thing. I smile whenever I feel like doing so but only to other girls. Bec. its like flirting if I smile to guys I dont know of ...isnt it? |
| Stan |
| Why is everyone so down in Dubai? You would think you all had it so hard here. Been here 5 days and barely seen any smiles yet alone people laughing. Is it that bad here? by the way, hi everyone :D |
| MaaaD |
| Stan i am just wondering where you come from. Compared to the US i would say yes this place does lack smiles. But compared to Europe dubai is a heaven of smiles lol |
| fayz |
| Welcome Stan, I don't know I get a lot of smiles, the kinda smile someone would give just as they're F'ing you over    |
| sage & onion |
| Hi Stan, Welcome to Dubai  I have never noticed that their is a lack of smiles here, if I smile I almost always will get one in return, maybe thats because I have a funny face     |
| scarlet |
| Stan i get smiled at all the time :D And I smile too but mostly at the same se><. I think it's against the culture to smile at a member of the se>< that you don't know? |

Thats rubbish.... People in London are much more cheerful than in Dubai...The only 2 places and times when people are unfriedly there are when they are on a mission in Sainsbury or tescos or during rush hour |
| abdalrasheed |
| I have heard that in Canada you will see everybody smiling. Is it True? |
| dubaimisfit |
Dude, what now? Any change in your opinion? Everyone smiles here submissively as long as you tip them decently, except for the sad pale skin frustrated expats [nasty grin] |
| dave101 |
| ive just been to the traffic office to change my uk licence to a uae one, and the arabs in there were laughing and joking it was funny, even tho i didnt understand, you had to smile too, what a good universal language! |
| MAC |
you sound like me maybe we cousins |
| Bleakus |
| maybe because some peoples smile scare people, thats why they dont smile |
| jabbajabba |
| I find it not to different to most of the world - some people will smile back, others will just stare at you blankly. Apart from Thailand - those people just love smiling which is why it got the name 'Land of Smiles'. |
| MAC |
| I get plastic surgury so smile = 100% |
| bonitta |
does it mean u had ugly yellow teeth before? :? Congrats with ur surgery |
| Sara1983 |
maybe they were laughin at u buddy lol    |
| Bleakus |
| they were possibly laughing at a joke one of them did, not necessaryly laughing at you but did you wear a funky hat or something :D |
| rudeboy |
| ppl dont smile in dubai cos they are so foking fed up with life here. so much tension. like rents, traffic and paying fines to dubai police, or trying to find parking under ur house. but if u want a good laugh or see some smile u should see me am ALWAYS laughing n smiling :D |
| Bleakus |
how about the person in a poor country who cant even feed his family properly? |
| rudeboy |
| in a poor country they smiling n laughing. plus poor ppl smile and laugh much more then rich ppl. my grand mum used to say this and am sure u know this aswell money doesnt buy u happiness ;) |
| asc_26 |
| ^^ I agree with your grandmum. I think smiling is a culture thing also. |
| rudeboy |
| yeh its culture thing aswell. cos if u crack a joke with someone from da west they wouldnt get it whereas if u cracked a joke with an arab he/she wouldnt get it. probably they will but some dont u know wot i mean :p |
| asc_26 |
| No no..what i mean is smiling per se is a culture thing not just cracking jokes. :D Definitely jokes varies from place to place, if you'll tell a joke that is arabic in origin, people from other parts of the world can understand it unless they know the arab cultures etc. Anyone who curse asc or say anything against her, the bad luck goes back to them. 8) |
| rudeboy |
oh i thought u were talking about u know jokes and all. well i dont think its a culture thing i mean a smile comes from within u but u could be rite cos some ppl from parts of world are always sad n not smiling :D like if u look at them u ll think they grumpy or something. by da way when did i curse u or say something against ya. i never said anything bad to u so y is ur bad luck following me where ever i go. is it cos of my smile :) |
| SimplyMe |
Not sure about that, I live in Chicago and people are very friendly here. I'm not originally from Chicago so when I first moved here, I made friends very quickly. People were always willing to stop and give you directions or help you if you looked lost or just talk to you while you are in line at the market. I'm sure there are some rude and unfriendly people but most of the time people are generally happy. But thats just my experience. |
