Knife through customs

I have a kukri that I purchased in India. I am stopping in Dubai for 2 days on my way back to the US. The blade is about 6 inches and is a little bit sharp. Will I be able to get this through customs, or will they take it from me? Or is there anyway I can just leave it at the airport and get it later?

Should be no problem if it is inside your checked luggage.
