Its not taboo, its just that you are openly asking about a particular preference in this country that is primarily illegal. When I say 'Illegal', I mean arrest, handcuffs, court, heavy fines, whipping, prison time and deportation 'illegal'. Yes it happens here, like every country in the world, but it is severely frowned upon and certainly not as open as many other countries.
