Looking at photos from the Hafit mountain road there appears to be dozens of skid marks? Is it a popular spot for 'sporty' drivers or an irregular street race? :D I might be popping over to do a couple of magazine features and would be interested in meeting up with anybody or businesses in the modifying scene in UAE. Cheers, Dale

Skid marks don't mean anything really, drive SZR you'll notice them everywhere, just idiots who throw their breaks on for no reason, or speed cameras.. hahaha

hmm hafeet at night, well lit up, no traffic, no speed cameras, no cops ========== drive the wheels off your car, couple of runs and you will overheat the brakes resulting in going into a corner faster than you were meant to and leaving some tyre marks :D fun nevertheless 8)

Anyone have accidents there? Or do they fall off cliffs, never to be found again? I don't even know where this road is yet.

I had a poke around Google Earth and it seems like a hell of a road. But a total dead end? Odd! Anyway, if nothing else it's bloody photogenic and a roadtrip from Dubai to Doha should make a good read for folks who'll never see it for themselves. As I said before, I'd like to meet up with some local ex-pats into their cars, get a feel for the scene. The number of trick cars and decent races that go to Dubai... there must be a bit of a 'scene', right?
