The water here (I think) is causing me problems with hair and skin. Has anyone else experienced this - is it due to the salinity/chlorine in the water? :geek:  Any solutions to balancing this?

Water filter in your shower lines.

My hair seems to be okay, but my skin has been on and off since moving to Dubai. I think it has to do with the heat and humidity and perhaps the water too. Water filters would be good, but you could also take a look at the cosmetics you use. For my face I've changed to Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Moisturiser for these summer months because it is lighter and non-greasy compared to my face cream for cooler months.

you may consider both options: 1. body lotion/creams/& shampoos used..where you should have an advice from a doctor/specialist regarding the best that suits ur kin & hair... 2. water treatment unit like filtration/RO/desalinator to have a good quality water at home... Good Luck..have a nice weekend..

Hi Scarlet, Everytime I go back to Dubai I go through the same thing! It is frusterating, but I think I have figured it out. I rinse my hair after washing and conditioning with cool bottled water. It seems to restore the shine, and makes it look healthy. I'm sure when I get back to our Dubai home that is what I will have to do. I think the humidity does do a number on our skin too. The heat causes breakouts, and tacky, awful skin problems. Are you using a toner after you clean your face? That helped me some. I will be dealing with the same problems when I get back in a couple of weeks. Maybe someone else has a solution to the problem.....

Thanks Dubai girl. It's mostly my hair/scalp. I haven't had any problems with my skin, as I have a pretty good routine for that. i will try the bottled water - but it seems a bit excessive :)
