That poor old man.. he rejects the word of the devil and now he is imprisioned and physically beaten. When I was a kid a remember thinking to myself that all the scriptures that spoke of one being mistreated for being a Christian (imprisioned, beaten, and killed) didn't apply to me. I thought, at the time, that we lived in a world where people didn't KILL each for such silly reasons. :

hmmm... any reason why did the guy opted to be converted... if he is trying to convert others then he maybe imprisoned. Some islamic laws have strict religious laws that must be respected. just my opinion

[quote="yshimy"]no law against trying to convert. Is this true?
yshimy
Yes, although i doubt the source "compass direct" as they are the only ones reported the incidents and all the links refer to them, but i researched the topic. He was convicted of "insulting a heavenly religion" not converting. BTW, Does anyone think that the egyptian government gives shit about religion... come on.. grow up. The stop christians from converting to islam "proved by several cases" as they don't want the USA keep interfering with internal issues as the Copts who immigrated to the states claims that people are being forced to convert to Islam..... Anyway, whatever you think... it is up to you.
