Dubai is renowned for its world-class hotels that rank amongst the best in the world and are unrivalled in terms of quality of services and facilities. Dubai's flagship Burj Al Arab is the world's first seven star hotel and the tallest all-suite hotel in the world. Dubai's numerous 5-star hotels (31 in 2002), including the Royal Mirage, the Ritz, the Jumeira Beach Hotel, Le Royal Meridien, and the Dubai Marine Beach Resort take leisure, comfort and hospitality to new levels of opulence and make the Dubai experience a highly memorable and unique one. The majority of international hotel chains have a presence in Dubai and new hotel developments are announced continuously. The total number of hotels in Dubai increased from 233 in 1995 to 264 hotels in 2001 and plans are underway to significantly increase this to service a thriving tourism sector in the near future.

Here are some of the links where you can find the hotel info:-

My wife and I stayed at The One and Only Royal Mirage in 2001 for our honeymoon... all I can say is wow!!! I don't think I've been to or ever will stay at a nicer hotel... unless the Burj is even nicer???? Staff were superb. During a short break, my wife and I stayed for a couple of nights at The Taj hotel in the city.... hotel was nice but location is disappointing... bit of a concrete jungle. We stayed with our 2 young kids at Dubai Marine Beach Resort and Spa... the tropical setting with villas was lovely and our accomodation in a 'family room' (junior suite) was very comfortable. The staff were great. I'm looking to stay somewhere a lot less opulent in March, perhaps 2-3 nights... which website do people from the Uk recommend? I'm looking to spend under £100 GBP per night per room. Any suggestions?

This site looks useful:
Dubai- http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/United-Arab-Emirates/Dubai/
UAE- http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/United-Arab-Emirates/
There are a number of places which can be sorted by price, location, star rating and name both at the last minute and year round. The hotels compete on the site to offer the lowest rates.
I'd be interested to see how good folks here felt that it compared as I've had good reports from my sister whose company uses it regularily up the road in Abu Dhabi for both visitors and travelling overseas.

Members can now be aware that there is a last minute system for delivering live availability up until literally the last minute. Only around 8 hotels currently participate in this via Cheaperthanhotels and some of the larger hotels are hard to get rooms from inside 2-3 days, even though they appear on the site.
European hotels have often been offering free inclusions like breakfasts and use of facilities, and i think some of the Dubai ones are starting to follow. When you dig a little into the offers behind the initial price you may see this.
Anyway - i thought this might be useful to pass on

I've seen many posts where people are looking to stay in cheap hotels as an alternative option to reduce costs. However i would recommend serviced apartment in Dubai or even serviced villas in Dubai for large families as they can greatly reduce hotel costs. Some serviced villas can accommodate up to 16 individuals, which is big enough for even 2 families.
I recently stayed in Dubai for 2 weeks in a serviced apartments, it may not have the same features as hotel, but it was definately worth it as i saved approx 40%.
There are many serviced apartment providers in Dubai, and finding the right people and the right place at the right time can be difficult.
I stayed with Oasis Rentals , in a 2 bed apartment on Palm Jumeirah and found it to be well worth the price. Its cost only $200 per night, thats almost the same price as a 3/4* hotel.
The prices are changing regularly and special offers are always available, and i would recommend anyone to take advantage of these especially if travelling at short notice.
Visit them at Oasis Rentals
