What are some ways that I can get to Doha, Qatar from Dubai other than airplane travel :lol: oh and no driving... isn't there a ferry or something?

Swimming was a classic answer. Other ones: - Motor biking - Walking - Running - Cycling - Canoing - There is an oil/diesel tanker that goes back and forth from Ras Al Khaimeh every 9 days. Apply for a job on it. - Paragliding - Jet Skiing OK, enough for now. But, an interesting dilemma nevertheless.

The only solution I can think of that hasn't been mentioned yet is attaching giant springs to your shoes, then taking a HUGE jump and hoping you have good aim.

Somewhere I read that there were plans to build causeways between Bahrain and Qatar as well as between Qatar and Abu Dhabi. However, Saudi Arabia was (and maybe still is?) objecting to the one to Abu Dhabi because it would pass thru Saudi waters. As you might know, there is an exisiting causeway between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Also, there has been some talk of a railway to link various GCC states, but I assume that is a long way off.
