Hello again, well mate if you ask me? honestly! I was a hardcore manual driver! And I used to love cars with manual gears. But since we are all moving with time, we have to change our choice once in a while i guess. So at the moment, considering the situation of Dubai roads now, I honestly feel Automatic cars are blessing to people! We all drive so often that if you're stuck in jams and conjested areas, i think driving a manual car is frustrating! trust me guys after having that long hecktic day at the office or college etc, we need a relief! And nothing good can we get more that a fully automatic car  set the car on cruise control (if there isn't any traffic) and relax way back home! Off course i agree when you drive a manual car, you have the complete control of the car, its like you have the soul of the car in your control! Awsome feeling! But hey, we have to move on.....what's more interesting is that all most all the vehicles of latest models come with ''Tiptronic'' i love this system! It can fullfill my desire of driving a manual car at times and automatic for every day comfort! Tiptronic is very ideal for a place like Dubai. Manual Gear (5 gears): Ideal for pure racing! Automaitc Gear (now 6 and 7 gears): All rounder! Best in comfort and good in racing too!

Err.. FYI, Manual = 4, 5 or 6 gears.. It really doesn't matter in Dubai anyway, Driving is an issue with all drivers here regardless of what they drive. Once they get in their cars, stupidity just comes over them + a sense of blindness.

Generally speaking: Ideal circuit (long course) racing - 5 speed sequential manual transmission. Ideal circuit (short course) racing - 6 speed sequential manual transmission. Ideal rally racing - 6 speed sequential manual transmission. Ideal drag racing - 4 speed sequential auto transmission.

Auto's are nothing but problems, i don't recall many service centers replacing the fluid, which is the #1 problem why automatics fail. Combine UAE's heat, the service life the auto's SHOULD be reduced. Manuals are nice, the only problem i see here is where people hold the clutch at a traffic light, which causes the throw out bearing to fail. Once that starts failing, the clutch/pressureplat never site perfectly on the flywheela nd drivetrain, causing the crank to tilt. We are talking 0.02-0.05mm movement, but when you have a radial play tolerance of 0.012-0.033mm of allowed play, you can see how you can screw up the cranshaft with this $30 bearing. Also, people don't shift properly, and drop teh clutch in high revs, which cause all sorts of problems...... Conclusion, manuals are always better that auto's, if driven and taken care of....auto's could be real head aches.
